A Center in the paradise of our coast Alentejo.
C.A.R.M.E.N., Rural Animation Center for Mobilization and Expression of Neurons, is located in Ribeira da Azenha, between Vila Nova de Milfontes and Porto Côvo, and aims to develop rural animation activities at the local, regional, nacional and international level in West Alentejo.
The activities which Center is dedicated are social services activities to the most disadvantaged people, seminars, trainings, experimentation, coaching, as well as cultural and recreational activities.
Our space can be used for you, if you want to organize some work meeting or formations, birthday parties, weddings and baptisms.
A dream place
We tried to create a nice place where everyone can feel comfortable, leave the problems for a time to freely express they own ideas, individual and collective creativity, dialogue and develop several initiatives, like conferences, formations and parties.
Also is a space available to the local actors (people who have an active and positive impact on the development of the region). Located at the crossroads of three municipalities (Odemira, Sines and Santiago do Cacém) and two districts (Beja e Setúbal), together with the local actors develop an help to reflection and conception of local projects. It is also a place to socialize and contact with nature for children and old people use.
We have a physical space of 362m² including a multifunction room of 150 m² that can receive 95 people and may have several functions: additional space for day centers and IPSS, seminars, conferences, formations, shows (theater, cinema, music, etc.), parties, others cultural and ludic activities. A workshop room, that at a party, like wedding o baptism, can be used for animation of children. A kitchen and a dining space, an office and tand around the Center of 8000 m² that will serve as a space to experimentation, formation and improving environmental practices, whether in the field of nature discovery and the relationship with her, promoting participatory agricultural practices respecting the environment (gardens sharing with organic farming), in the conception of leisure activities integrating environmental and social objectives and producing of renewable energy and biological tratament waste and effluents.
Support projects
C.A.R.M.E.N. supports innovative projects that are particulary relevant, as the artistic value of the project of traditional knowledge of women, conducted by Philozoia (love for life), produces dolls representing beauty and meaning for the kids and adults. They combine elements of european diversity with freshness, glamor and modernity.
A great union
C.A.R.M.E.N. and the rural turism Gotas de Luar, connected to it and with which shares the ground of 9ha, both are a place of demonstration, experimentation and learning what it can do in terms of production and sustainable living (power conversion and renewable energy, agriculture and organic food, etc.).
