1st Meeting with local actors

On November 1 of 2014, we had here in Ribeira da Azenha, in C.A.R.M.E.N., the 1st meeting of reflection with local actors, with the presence of 23 people.
The porpuse of this meeting was double:
- present the Center, share ideas about its utility and possible use;
- built an ongoing relationship/collaboration with local actors with the perspectiva of organize a utilization strategy that could be widely shared.
Why C.A.R.M.E.N. was created?
The C.A.R.M.E.N, Rural Animation Center for Mobilization and Expression of Neurons, was created:
- to provide a space for reflection and confrontation of ideas about the problems that we found in society;
- to identify possible solutions to face current and future challenges, developing this reflection globally and locally and connecting both levels.
The C.A.R.M.E.N. also aims to be a center of social animation, cultural and festive, available to different grous.
To allow this reflection and animation, we tried to create a pleasant place where everyone can feel comfortable, leave for a time their problems of day-to-day to freely express their own ideas and creativity and develop different initiatives.
What ideas were expressed during the meeting to the C.A.R.M.E.N. Center?
The presentations of each participant, these are the general ideas that C.A.R.M.E.N. may be:
- A center for reflection (exchange ideas on the future perspective);
- A knowledge space of the territory;
- Knowledge of the territory, the people, the existing associations.
- Knowledge of its environmental aspects.
- Energy / waste.
- Permaculture / ecology / ecosystems / specificities of the territory (seeds, products, organic farming).
- In view of improving the quality of life.
- A space for young people.
- Training and creativity (look how to organize activities and trainings to put the lives of young people a future perspective and discover their own concerns and creative skills).
- A space for adult continuing education (crossing scientific knowledge and knowledge of the territory to valorise potential of people).

- A space to think how to create new roots in the territory, giving new meaning to local life:
