C.A.R.M.E.N. association develops animation and research activities of local, regional, nacional and internacional in the west Alentejo, as seminars, trainings, experimentation, coaching, as well as cultural and recreational activities.
C.A.R.M.E.N Intends to develop its activities mainly through its rural animation multi-service Center in Ribeira da Azenha (parish of Vila Nova de Milfontes, Odemira). It includes a a multifunction room of 150 m² that can receive 95 people. a workshop room, a kitchen, a dining space and a office. The Center was built in 2013-2014 and started its activities in January 2015.
The overall objective is to create a suitable space for reflection/ research, experimentation e formation that may have an impact on local and general society. This is to facilitate the design, experimentation and implementation of innovative solutions appropriate at a time of crisis, considering not only the economy and financial dimension, but also environmental and governance and more generally civilizational this crisis.
